Trim pieces question..

Post by MarkD »

Happy Easter Guys:

On my 31, I have several trim pieces that go around the outside of fly bridge. They are more moldings that come across the lower lip of the bridge, etc. I think they are aluminum. Any idea where to get new ones or have them fabricated?

Many thanks,
Mark

I will use these on my Bahia mar's factory hardtop as they appear to be very close but I have no idea what is used on the flybridge. They have other pieces of half round, also.

I had the same question when I wanted to refresh my 28, by renewing the dull and tired aluminum trim all around the bridge lip, with a shiny stainless new trim.

It appears that there does not exist a stainless trim, of any width or thickness, with a similar profile curvature…they all come in rectangular profiles with sharp 90 degree corners which is no good, so I moved on to the next project on my list.

Usually when updating the boat, that trip is removed and glassed in. Unfortunately to do that you will probably need to paint the bridge so it all matches unless you can find a really good glass guy.
