David,

Capt Patrick has a tip on repairing a through hull hole the same priciples may reply & since its above the water line you could probably use a piece of core material (ply or foam).

btw, what model was the robertson AP & was it working. I'm looking for an AP1000 head unit and would be happy to make a donation to the site for your old one if it was a working AP1000.
