Ethanol here to stay?

Post by In Memory Walter K »

Well, the President elect announced today that his Secretary of Agriculture nominee is the Governor of Iowa. Guess what they grow a lot of. I sure as hell can't see him cutting back on corn for Ethanol. On the other hand, The Sierra Club, a vocal Environmental group has just come out strongly against biofuels because of the amount of energy used to make it, the excessive land used to grow it, the destroyed water tables created to irrigate it, what it does to food costs and what increased food costs does to the economy, etc, etc, etc. The people who started the whole thing now oppose it! Guess what goes around, comes around...all predicted and written about on this thread three or more years ago! Makes me sick. If these A-holes can't figure that out, good luck on the economy! Walter

Walter,

I hate to say it, but they will continue growing corn for fuel instead of food, and the economy will still continue it's downward spiral.
