Ahab/JKSR has passed away

Post by JK »

I just wanted to let you guys know my father, Ahab/JKSR passed away on Friday. This site and the friendships he made on here were important to him, so much so had had several of the faithful's business cards in his wallet (UV's being the first in line) and had numerous pages from the site, various threads and several pages from the building tips section printed out and in the nightstand beside his bed. I feel fortunate to know how this site and the boat brought us closer all these years.

JK Take solace in the fact that you two had the kind of times together that most are not lucky enough to have. You will have and remember them for the rest of your life. I had the misfortune of losing my Dad at 13, and based on the times we did have together, found his loss the biggest thing in my life. They were the role models that shaped us. Our sincerest condolences. Walter

JK,

Sorry to her this news. I had the special privaledge of fishing with your dad on my boat in one of the early UVIs, even hooked him up to a Blue Marlin, which jumped off. He was a pleasure to be around...one of the great guys. He will be missed.

Jk,

Sorry to hear of Ahab's passing. I feel honored that I was able to meet him on at least one occasion. Realizing how much these boats and this sandbox have brought people together, I can just see both our fathers together, talking up a storm about us and our 31's.

JK: Very sorry to hear about your loss, especially at this time of year! Though I did not get to meet him the high regard with which others on this site hold him speaks volumes!

Very sorry to hear about your Dad. I remember him introducing himself to me a UVI Tournament. I'm John Kelly. Oh, I said, Your "JK." I know you. We laughed. A great guy; we'll all miss him
