Illinois hunting trip

Post by JimmyG »

I know this post has nothing to do with Bertrams but I just wanted to share this with you guys. Well, I just got in from Illinois and finally all the waiting (8 years) for the big one paid off countless days from 5 AM to 5 PM rain, sleet, snow and never coming out of the tree letting many many good bucks go by....then the last day and in the last few hours this 170 class (Non typical gross) 220 pound (dressed) buck came in and it was all over in minutes!

If God didn't want us to eat animals, he wouldn't have made them out of meat.

That's a beautiful thing.

Nice job with that bow.

Nice critter, Pike County? That drop adds some real style. Doubt we'll see many of class up here in Dec.

Beautiful...buck of a lifetime. They just don't get that big in East Texas where I hunt.

Congradulations.

Timmy, you need to go there.
I'm not sure but indecision may or may not be my problem.

never tried deer or "buck"........studied one year at Indiana University of Pennsylvania back in 1992 as an exchange student and deer just walked right through the "Oak Grove"(middle of the school).....damn things were big...and sometimes they will run you........

Jimmy, now that's a buck. I see the bow & arrow rig, but the hole looks like a 30-06. You musta shot hard.

Andre - went by your boathouse yesterday and you now have steel beams welded up there for the lifts. The mosquito invasion is still on, they almost outran the golf cart.

Thanks guys I was so excited I had to share! I was hunting south central Illinois in Lincoln. There was a reporter from a Chicago news paper doing a story on the outfitter and he followed me to my parking place and interviewed me and took pictures of me back packing into my stand, one of the questions to me was why do I spend money to go to IL instead of hunting my state..I laughed and summed it up for him...last year our hunting club has a big buck (oxymoron) pool we hunt the pine barrens of south jersey and 18 bucks were killed that week I won the pool with 103 pound 8 point buck!
