Need some advice what to use on the bottom my dum ass went a little to far sanding the bottom paint off and wound up removing a small section of gelcoat.Did not get into deep just exposed to bare fiberglass do I need to use an epoxy?

Bill,

You should be adding a couple or more coats of epoxy barrier coat, and if so, you can skip the gelcoat, and add a little extra barrier coat on that spot...

Thank you, I should have mentioned not taking the bottom down all the way I was just doing a section that had chipped off should still just apply barrier coat? TXS Bill

Bill,

Epoxy barrier coat is a necessary item to keep water being absorbed into the fiberglass. Lack of a good barrier coat is just asking for osmotic blisters...

Thank you Patrick,not having done this before is there one you would recommend?Interlux watertite?or Interlux 2000e? are they considered barrier coats?
