Paint seems to me to be the LAST finish. the fairing on a bert hull can be substantial. 5k for paint seems (unless I was outrageously robbed) to be a very good deal. Now if you roll and tip things can be more reasonable, but a top grade fully faired and show type job(get what you want, your choice) ...

I got an Armstrong ladder here in Stuart. Small bracket on transom and a 4 foot ladder that it mount to when you need it . Great, works very well , easy to climb up and dosen't garbage up the transom

It seems the epoxy builds up faster than varnish, I was payin by the hour and they said more bang for the buck, also Mount Gay doesn't spot!

Bob, My cabin sole was done like yours, coosaboard (glassed on both sides) 1/4" teak and holly ply. Then it was multiple coats of west epoxy then varnish. Well when I started the project the blisters were hidden by too much paint,as I looked more it was grim so I had the bottom peeled, the right guy the right tool took one day. filled the gouges with mat,and resin if big enough, then two barrier coats,then paint. Not fun not cheap but done.

I used two 4d glass mats ,port and stbd engines, port also serves as house, and stbd handles its engine and three bilge pumps, port handles extra bilge pump. all can be coupled with manual battery switch. nothing auto( except pumps). Just cranking 454s

I used west epoxy about 4coats then satin varnish on mine. looks great, can handle getting wet(epoxy) and didn't try to kill me with fumes like the awlbright I tried to put over the epoxy. the varnish is easy to retouch too.

They may have shipped it over, I got some volvo trim tabs at Hincley in late summer and the parts guy said they pulled the engines to do some bulkhead repair, that was late hurricane season when I pulled my boat in a storm panic.

I put a 16k unit in my FBC, under the seat forward of the port aft window. plenum is outbord in the port hanging locker with 2 4" ducts to the galley/salon one 2' in the head and one 4' to the v berth Brrrrrrrr. Ocean breeze unit manufactured in Stuart, all stainless works great and well priced.

The return for the A/C is under the dinete, nothing in the engine room. I also foamed all the gaps in the main bulkhead. The good news is 2 new fuel pumps and new lines from the pumps to the carbs may have solved the problem. Thanks for the tips
