Re: New member

Welcome Keith, sounds like a fun project. Now I know where to rent a trailer from in so-cal to haul my boat back to the water. Haha. If you're ever interested in stopping by, I'm in Long Beach and my 31 project is just down the street. Joe

I use Valspar and armorflex, I have had very good results with both, I usally thin my gel coat with 10% styrene when spraying and coat with PVA, If I am brushing I do not thin it I only add wax/mold release(no PVA needed). The supply house by my house is $352 for a 5gallon pail. I found out where th...

rudder shelf

Hello gang, I know this topic has been hammered but I want to bring it to life once again. I am building my rudder shelf this week and initially was going to do something like in this picture, I think it looks clean, strong; I have the material, would be much quicker and last forever. http://i177.ph...

East coat help

Does anybody know of a board member that lives in Connecticut? We are to the point where we are starting to look for power for the boat; we have a line here in CA on a set of new Cummins reman 220B with 63A gears. I think this package will be under powered for the boat I am building. I know of a set...

Miter, means to cut a 45 on each end where the perimeter board comes together to form a 90, 8 cuts total. Then it looks like Bob used a 1/4 bit to router the top bottom to make a beautiful table You can do anything you put your mind too. Practice, patience, and good tool's make a huge difference in ...

Harry, that’s a great story. I know the feeling my caddy sports a 04 Ls1 with a 700R4 behind it. The traditional guys cringe when they see it. I built it for my wife. We can get in it and cruise the coast or run to Vegas, shit New York if we wanted, I get 22mpg in that big old boat. I wish I could...

Thanks Guys. The power package will be Cummins 220B 6bt or 260B 6bta. I do like the center mount I was just wondering about how dry it would stay. I could put it inside under the port rear set, the area was planned for electrical. I have heard great thing about northern lights a bit expensive, you g...

Which gen set and location?

I am getting ready to lay out the engine location and gen set placement. At first I was thinking Port side outboard, but after seeing Bob H. location I am having second thoughts. Where do you guys have your gen set and what brand and size? I am thinking 4kw is about the biggest I can go. Thanks Joe
