Re: 31 Bahia Mar
Yes, those rebuild photos are awesome, thanks for sharing. The "small" comment refers to the space between the forward end of the engine boxes and the bulkhead. The original diagrams Carl posted illustrate the issue. On the Bahia Mar, there's a second transverse bulkhead placed further aft, which cr...

Re: 31 Bahia Mar
Thanks Carl. This is an intriguing redo of a 31 but it looks like on the Bahia Mar, there's very little space available between the forward end of the engine boxes and the cabin bulkhead. The bulkhead appears to be located farther aft in the Bahia Mar.

31 Bahia Mar
I have a question: Is the 31 Bahia Mar laid out differently than the flybridge versions in terms of space? It seems like the flybridge boats have a lot more space forward of the engine boxes, in the cabin area. I saw a Bahia Mar the other day and the amount of room between the forward end of the eng...

Good morning guys, I need some more boats to feature on the Bertram website. If you're interested, please send a short writeup about your boat and a few photos. Pete, Had the boat surveyed to renew insurance last August and it's still for sale. I've showed it to a lot of people but all lowballs so far. Fine by me because I still love the boat and it's running great. But the fact is, everybody wants triple engine outbaords that cruise at 50 mph and they will...

Abaco Yacht Services on Green Turtle is an excellent yard, I've had them work on my boat before. On the left as you enter Black Sound. And there are several great yards in Man-O-War too.

Re: 37 Bertram
Bob, I don't think QSMs will fit in the 37. I looked at repowering mine with 450C recons and even that was a very tight fit. Length is the issue: the engine room in the 37 was designed around V-block engines and is short. To put in the 450Cs, we would have had to cut 7 inches off the shafts and the ...

Re: 37 Bertram
I have a 37 with the 450 hp 6V92s and at 1950 rpm I'm cruising 22 knots and burning about 35 gph. The Cat boats are decidedly slower. I've had great reliability from the Detroits. It's true they like fuel, but I've put a lot of hours on mine without a single major failure, and the 37 is a truly grea...

That is the boat Gert, thanks for the link. I stand corrected, I thought they only built the one. I know they had structural issues with them and most had to have aft cabin bulkheads installed to stop the house from flexing (and breaking).

Re: Bertram 37 progress
Gert,
Is that the 37 originally named Hot Chili that was built without an aft bulkhead, as a day boat? It's the only 37 I know of with forward salon windows. It ended up in Southern California where a friend of a friend owned it but I have not heard of its whereabouts in many years.
