I have no complaints about mine. looking at others I do see things I like better, like the teak boards are chamfered giving a nicer finished appearance in my opinion. Maybe you should patent the design. If it works on a 31 it will work on other boats. Patents can be expensive and unenforceable for the small guy. Items like this, get in and flood the market. Skim the cream before everyone else jumps on the bandwagon. Hopefully by then you have the next new design...

There is the possibility that if you glass it not on the boat then you might not be able to get it back on! It may become mis-shapened. Did I say I'm not an expert, not even a hobbyist. Just another INET opinion. I agree with Rick on this, this is also from the non-expert, not even a hobbyist opini...

If not in a rush I believe the term may be deadheading, that is waiting for an empty return trip to add revenue to a transporter that would otherwise make the return trip empty. I think following the chine enhances the boats classic lines.
I can’t say I dislike following the waterline, I’ve seen some boats were it looks good, provides a more modern look. But the pink elephant in the room is that the boats lines/chines are seemingly ignored being painted over.

I’m not a fan of outboards, especially on a 31, but this one looks the part. 600hp, light, and low profile, I think it will move along pretty nicely. The motor will suck up the liquid if presented before the raw water pump. AKA - seacock strainer with fresh waster hose barb attached going into pail with seacock closed and no leaks.
Or you plumb in after the raw water pump. Then you push water with gravity… tall hose n funnel or pump it.
