Good eye, Ian; it appears that the painted area is consistent with the wetted area when the B-25 would be at plane. Maybe a drag-reducing coating? How 'bout it, Gert?!? Guys , this a tipical Riva bottom paint job , even the wooden ones have this , in the old days they used white gloss paint instead...

Sanded it grid 240 , then epoxy primer it to get rid of all the silicone and have a good base layer, after that sanded it 360 for the first coat of Awl grip

Aprea Mare is not build for our humid dutch weather ...we did not need to steam the wood , we just gave it a couple of days to get used to being bend ...every day a litle more.
