Once the completed assembly has set up, it can be surfaced to a consistent thickness. For this inlay the thickness was 3/167".  Details such as eyes can be accomplished by drilling a hole of the desired size and filling in the whole with colored epoxy. Lines can also be cut in with the jewelers saw and filled in a similar fashion.  Cut away the excess fiberglass sheet leaving only the finished assembly.
