Seeing non ethanol fuel at the dock now

Post by Kevin »

Marinas with normal fuel are popping up all over down here in Marathon. The fourth one to sell the 90 octane non ethanol fuel has a large banner outside that "no ethanol". I asked the lady working the pumps why they have a big banner.....just to see what she would say. She said these other places started selling non ethanol fuel and we lost a tremendous amount of business so we had to switch. I have not been keeping up with the subject matter but it sounds like people are catching on about the scam with ethanol. Albeit at the price of now paying even more for a product that cost less to produce than ethanol fuel. Its almost like insurance. The company only wants to insure you if you are not a risk. Either way they get us for our money.

All based on the governmental logic that 10% Ethanol in our fuel is better for the environment and cuts our dependency on foreign fuel. They left out of the equation that you'll get 10% lower mileage, it will cost you more and takes more energy to make, and also destroys older engines, creates an international foodstuffs problem, and ruins our waterways. The only good mathmeticians seem to be the farmers who know how to figure out subsidies.
