Jack, we've never met, but I am quite sure you are a very BAAAAAD man! As someone said on the 25 site, posting that ad on this board is like waving crack under an addict's nose!!!

CMP,

Sorry about that. After looking for a 31 for so many years, it's hard to stop looking even though I now own one. According to my wife, it's an addiction, so your crack analogy may not be that far off. At $5000 I might just buy it anyway. She'd probably line up one of those interventions like you see on TV.

Looks like it could have been one of the Virginia Marine Patrol boats that were auctioned off. Some were hardtops and had the lower rub rail in the stern like that so that they could tear up your paint job while they boarded you!!

Honestly, if it were closer, I'd buy it just to have it...

CMP-

If you're patient on shipping, you can get a pretty great deal. There'll be alot of haulers looking for something to back north with this time of year.

That B31 was indeed one of the Virginia Marine Patrol boats. I't been discussed here on B31.com before. My late father bought the boat in 2007 when he was undergoing chemo for $25K. I had already spoken to Capt. Patrick about posting it here as a "come and get it" which I will still do if nobody comes up with $5K.

I think he turned it into a planter. I hear it was a banner year for the rag weed crop.

Buju,
I checked it out for the heck of it. Unless you are looking for total restoration project forget it Outrigger bases are OK I guess. The fighting chair would need a lot of work.....wood and canvas. There was fire coral on the hull. Starboard side had extensive dock rash....may not be water tight. The trailer does not go with it. The guy was willing to loan out trailer for transport locally but it would not have made it to the end of his street. I am pretty sure the brakes are locked up by the looks of things. Blow out city from all the dry rot. The boat interior looks as though it sunk a couple feet above the floor. Stainless is mostly bent. I am guesing somewhere between o3-05 hurricane season it went down. I had to check it out since it was so close though!
