Props

Post by wgiarratana »

Any advantage to cupping my 16x16 props? Running 230hp mercruisers wot @ 4200-4400 rpms now. Higher cruise lower top end? Thanks for any input.

If you are hitting the appropriate top end RPM's and cruise speed, adding cup does add efficiency to the prop, but adding cup means you have to take some pitch out of the prop. Will it increase cruise speed or top end. Maybe but no guarantees. If you cruise the boat all the time vs trolling, it might make it a little more fuel efficient.

You probably will not notice a big difference.
