barry engine mounts

Post by ed c. »

Does anyone know the length of service for barry mounts. The engines are 315 yanmars and we put about 220- hours a year on them. We do not beat the boat up, most hours are trolling.

Send Bruce a PM, he would be the best one to ask.

I'm pretty sure there is a way to check them by means of amount of motion. I've only seen ones that are tight and ones that are shot and didn't take a genius figure out. As to the nuances, I'm out.

I'm not sure how well they will hold up...but I bought seaboards mounts instead of the Barry mounts for one of the motors lacking mounts. I put the couple hundred saved towards other purchases. I have to say they look and work very similar so far.

Thanks for the input. After reviewing photos of bad ones, we are ok.
