Back with an old friend....Crows Nest

Post by John F. »

Doug Crowther and I ran his B31 Crows Nest up from Annapolis to Charlie's house in Brick and then to Montauk for the 2003 Rendezvous. I was on her for a few runs to AC for the Rendezvous there, caught some YFT on her off NJ, and fished her with Harv, Sy, and John D., and of course Doug in the SJ Shark Tourney. Lots of good times on Crows Nest with lots of good people. Well, Doug has moved inshore, and decided to make me an offer I couldn't refuse...so I didn't. I've regretted selling my Anne E., and now its time to start again with Crows Nest.

She's right at my dock in my backyard. My dock looks so much better. Thanks Doug.

Congratulations! That boat looks "done"! What are you going to do with all your spare time? How about a shot of the two Bertrams at the dock!

Thanks. She really needs a good bit of work, but its a great base to start. Mike, yup, those Detroits are huge--and they still run right up to 3000 rpm. I'm hoping that they have a bit of life yet. Anybody need a Murry Brothers Chair?

John-
After you and I climbed aboard over the winter I thought she was done for, so I am not going to ask! Glad to see the boat back in the water and headed for better times!

Beautiful boat John. Congratulations on getting her to your house.
I really like the color scheme on the boat. That should definitely beautify your dock.

Fellas-

Thanks. So far, she's gotten cleaned out, interior wipe down, oil changes on both motors, Doug and I had already done new fuel filters, and the raw water pumps are coming out today.

Cam-Here's the 2 Bertram dock shot. I average about 3 quick evening trips (maybe 2 hours) on the B20 a week light tackling for rockfish/stripers. She's a great ride. We've got a place in Lewes, DE for a week, and she's coming with me. Wife gets the beach, and I get the Delaware Bay.
