Hurricane Lee

Post by Tony Meola »

Heads up to everyone on the East Coast of Florida and Puerto Rico. This one is going to be big and has a bead on the East Coast right now.

this morning it is looking like it is going to hook into the gulf of Maine. I think it will be far enough offshore that it won't hit the Cape with hurricane force winds. I am hoping that once it hits colder water it will calm down quick and Maine won't get hit hard.

I read that Canada is worried about their largest oil refinery being in the bull's eye. They may have to shut it down and if it is damaged, we can expect the price of fuel to jump.

Expect the price of fuel to jump regardless.
The explanation is variable, the price increase is constant

I recently paid 4.19 for diesel, but I think my next load is going to be a bit higher. I am guessing around 4.60 a gallon. UGh.

I can save some money from the marina prices as I am lucky enough, I can have it delivered to the boat.

$4.19...thats a bargain. $5.15 here

I remember growing up with diesel being substantially lower in price than gasoline. I also remember when we put corn on the table and not in the tank.

I can have delivered to my boat too...but I have to carry it myself and the street price is not enough of a bargain to be doing that.

Carl

You usually need a private dock to get it delivered. Not many Marinas allow it. I do know that the outfit I call delivers to the commercial boats up in Point Pleasant.

The price I paid was just before the price started jumping again. I have to fuel up again shortly so we shall see what it costs since oil started going up again.
