Most of the glass tube logs I glassed in had about 1/4" clearance around, but I made sure not only the boat was blocked properly, but the engines were 003 or less to the shafts and struts before I glassed them in. Rechecked after floating for a day.

Funny, but they are late to the party.

Not that the boat or their work shouldn't be recognized, but some of us were doing this stuff 20 years ago. It's nothing new.

If I remember right when in the biz, my manufacturers of marine paint discouraged the use of waxes on LPU paints because wax attracts dirt and when you add moisture, you get black streaks.
Poly paint has a surface that's slicker and harder than wax.

Can't help on the hard and washed away, but left in the water?

Not sure how any insurance company will cover that loss. People may have a surprise when they go to make a claim. Agent: Sorry, you were supposed to put the boat on the hard deck or move out of the area not leave in the water.

Those plastic glands were common on Tiarra boats behind Crusader engines. As they aged, plastic threads would freeze up.

Go with the standard bronze packing glands.
You'll need hose id and shaft diameter.
Lewis Marine in Lauderdale would have them.

A battery charger doesn't know whether it's hooked up to an 8d, 4d, 24 series, 31 series etc as long as the battery charger will charge the types of batteries, flooded, agm etc and they are the same voltage.
