Hi all🙋‍♂️ I'm a little intimidated going from a single outboard to dual inboards and separate controls for throttle/trans. Can anyone explain the control setup on this bertram below? Re: How much time can you have between gelcoat layers?

What you're doing will work fine. I wouldn't wait longer than three days between coats without sanding, but inside of three days is fine.

Boat builders spray plenty of polyester on Fridays and don't apply the next layup until Monday.

Re: How much time can you have between gelcoat layers?

Hot and humid as it is you probably have a few days, but the basic rule is 24 hours for a chemical polyester bond without any further prep. Epoxy is much different, but with polyester you have time.

Gelcoat, glass..... samey same.

If you have counter rotating engines, you have two different transmissions that are running 'in sync'. If you have two engines that spin the same way, then you have two identical transmissions. One is running in reverse while the other is running forward. There are two things that happen. One is tha...

I ran heat to the bridge from the bus heater. The heater itself was mounted in the head, under the sink. Two 2" holes in the bulkhead for coolant hoses. It had three vents. One ran behind the galley and into the berth. One ran into the space behind the fridge and vented into the cabin. The other ran...

1968 boats has the smaller, 177 (?) gallon fuel tank. 1972 and later boats have 220 to 230 gallon tanks. Everything is build by hand, so they're all slightly different. Mine says it's 231.

I just started flying in July or August. Right when NY allowed business to reopen. I liked it so much that I bought a high power, complex aircraft. It's a bit of a handful for a student, but I like the challenge.

Trey is around. He says he hasn't flown in over a year, but still has his Mooney.

Exactly. Like I mentioned earlier, I went with Espar, but Webasto is the same thing. Both companies make gas versions of their heater, but I would go diesel. I did this years ago. I put the heat exchanger / fan unit in the head, under the sink. I ran flexible duct behind the fridge. One vent goes to the V-berth. One opens in the cabin, just forward of the head. The third connects to 4" pvc pipe that runs up to the bridge and then out just below the helm....

Not mine, but I do have two F250's with 7.3's and two E350 diesel vans (though one is a 6.0). The 2001 F250 came from the factory with forged rods, so now that one makes 600HP. The biggest problem with them up here is rust. From the look of them, you would think that Ford was in Arizona and never he...
