Re: Filthy Greasy Mess

bob- to keep it from rolling away throw a couple bricks or broken cinder block in it, the oil absorbs really dont wick too much water even after a couple of months- like I said it keeps from getting that oily spot under the boat its better than nothing and still lets the boat drain freely .

Pete- the layout I have seen shows flybridge, 3 helm seats. Different layouts maybe? If you didnt know better you think its a 31- thats how close it resembles the 31
makes sense with Bertram asking for a classic 31 to be at the show.

Bob there is also a light blue below the waterline, does that blister? Every painted boat has paint right to the waterline, they dont blister, but submerged all bets are off . When left submerged all year, like bob, it will usually blister where the light hits it.
It is not recommended that it be left submerged for extended periods of time

For his sea craft it would be perfect

Yes you should, i would suggest glassing it after you have it cut and fitted but prior to glassing it into the boat. Use poly or vinyl for that.
You can then epoxy it into the boat

I would not use Formula 57, just for the fact that it does not have a good working time. Bob- now you are talking about spraying gelcoat for purpose of a primer, if thats the case spray something else like a epoxy primer or even some duratech. Or just spray the gelcoat and leave it be, in a few years when you want to recoat sand it and apply the finish of your choice.
