gemlux scuppers are used on many boats, including regulator. they use a patented high polish/coating method that does give them an incredible shine compared to other stainless. the scuppers are good quality, and I have sold quite a few of thier steering wheels, for the price you could buy 3-4 of the...

the bulkhead glass is flush mounted from both sides, so what you see on the outside is the same as the inside, you could say it is sandwiched I suppose. There are no lines You can sand what you need to paint with 400, beyond that there is a blending technique that would need to be polished after the...

many years ago I had a shop that sold window tint, while they all offer a "lifetime gurantee", not all films are lifetime. The theory was that most people would either not bother, not know the difference, or not own the vehicle long enough to take them up on it. The labor is obviously the same, the ...

we did a blistered bottom of a 72' last year, tell the blaster to go heavier on it and most of them pop. Those that dont pop are easily popped with a small die grinder or even a counter skinker of they are not that wide. then it was 2 days of sanding by electric da sanders and 80 grit, dont go any g...

whats the plan for the top of it? Just going to leave the tops of the baffles not attached? The tank I took apart had contamination of the laminates, without proper priming and coating you cannot glass to a compromised substrate. Thats the main issue at hand, it isnt what can you glass in there for ...

whats the explanation for tanks that are NOT foamed in failing? I just removed one of 2 tanks from a diesel powered boat that were 4 years old and failed, no foam anywhere near them. I also removed another tank this summer from a boat that was 5 years old, no foam in that one either. There is no bla...

you need to cut the tank where Bertram put it together, its a shoe box design. You will have to drill out all the rivets to get the baffles out, there are hundreds of them holding the baffles in place. There is more involved, too much to really list or describe until you are already into the project.

the opinion of that web site by Dave P is just that, opinion. HIS opinion. It is not scientific fact. like when he tries to debunk a moisture meter by having it hovering over a glass of water- the meter reads conductivity that is carried with the wood and the water, so placing a piece of dy wood OVE...

you will need thier primer before the coating, you will also need thier resin to glass the whole deal back together. not sure what your plan for glassing the top of the baffles in was, maybe you were just going to glass as much as you could while the lid was off? You will also need to do the baffles...

coating and installing a tank is one of those things you can ask 6 people and get 6 different answers. I know it saves money, and I know you can do it yourself- but please go see a boat that was sprayed by a reputable yard. just curious- did you happen to price out the flex mold? remember you need big enough pieces if doing diamonds so that the repeating pattern looks correct on the boat after you trim it to fit. so a gunwale would need a piece as wide as its widest points, cant trim it and piece it in. I remember gett...

thanks Bob- BTW the key to the boat life in teak is its resistance to the teak cleaners, some cleaners break down other sealants. I have used the teak brown and the black, works well and stays pliable for when the wood does its natural things. Have the yard order a tube or 2 from Lewis, or you can g...

I can tell you first hand, that painting the inside of a 31 is not a easy task. You cant see a thing when you do it, its like trying to paint in a fog. Besides the obvious prep and equipment, you REALLY need a way to try to exaust the fumes safely. Picture driving in thick fog where you cant see pas...
