I used a "Versachem" non-hardening gasket seal liquid #2 available in small tubes at auto parts stores. It says on the tube that it can be used for gas line fittings. I haven't had a problem.

I took the dinette out on my '69 B31 FBC winter of 2004-2005. As I remember, the fore and aft dinette seat things were attached to the floor with screws that were totally corroded. The seats assemblies themselves were made of plywood nailed together with ring-shank nails, then covered with Formica. ...

To add insult to injury--here on the Chesapeake, gas is in the mid to high $3 gallon range in the counties that have E-10 (the county I live included). The next county south on the Eastern Shore, where I get my fuel these days, has non-blended fuel. I just paid $2.99 gallon there, and gas in Ocean C...

Its pretty easy to get a level floor to within 20" of the port side (to the plywood/pegboard piece with the 3 cutouts that runs fore and aft--not the actual hull side). Assuming that you'll want a 20" wide bench running fore and aft, it should fit real well without much trouble.
