I live in S. Jersey, I use cetane 8, very little smoke on startups. I buy fuel from a marina that sells more fuel by far than anyone else. My engines are 315 yanmars. ( 2003 model)

CWJ, about 2 or 3 years ago you could not find a slip in my area. There is a run on small boat slips, because there are not many at all in the Cape May/ Wildwood area.

Bruce, what you say about the boat show is the same up here in NJ & Philly. The salesmen were bored stiff, plus the biggest boat was 33' at the Philly show. The Wildwood , NJ Boat show has changed its name to the Wildwood Boat & Fishing Show. A sign of the times. I heard that Silverton has had a lay...

Jimmy, do your serial numbers have a letter after them. It may be an "M".
Mine do, i think "maybe" it stands for modified. There was a problem with earlier 6LP's with the valves, but with the hours you have on the engines you may be past that problem. Good Luck

I don't have a grudge against cat or any company, but i don't think those engines will ever live down their reputation. I have heard many a mechanic say no to them. Give me your opinion about the following products.
4000 fast cure, 4200 fast cure, 5200 fast cure and original 5200.
I use original all the time for underwater work.
Also what do you think about plastic spacers for props. The guy next to
me has them. I personally would not use them.
