Buju- find a 20 seacraft if you can. No foam to load up on water , an easily redone transom, stable at rest and smooth at speed. Had a 20 w 235 johnson, it flew, ran offshore very well(less than 16 kts. wind offshore). Wet? yaaah, cannon shots out of snake creek from the port bow, just learn when to...

Had a 28 with small blocks for 12 years and my 31 now with 6bts for 3. The 28 is actually 2 feet shorter28.5 vs 30.5 . falls off plane much sooner than the 31 but I find the torque of the cummins allows the 31 to maintain 15kts in a chop-nice. the 28 is much more tender, just step on the gunnel of b...

I had 454s ,in those seas I would cruise at 18-19 kts probably burning 24 or 25 gal/hr. mayt have to slow depending. at troll its hard to say, 5or 6 kts at idle, probably 6gal/hr just guessing there. a 50 mile rountrip run and 4 hr. troll I'd put in a min of 75 gal. now w 6btas same profile maybe 40...

speed is a wonderful thing-my 250s get me 26kts. at 2400,awesome, nothing too rocket science, 4blade 21x23 w a little cup. what impresses Th s#$^ out of me is The ability to sustain 15kts in 3-4 ft slop going offshore. Set a speed and it just goes, goes, goes and I don't think it burns any fuel.Bob-I...

Bruce, thanks for the compliment, yeah I'm pretty happy with the way she turned out. Changed thermostats today and got the temps up 180-Very pleased w the performance. 7 kts at idle leaves too much wake in Manatee pocket, one engine out of gear works good. 370s must be a bear close in. I'm getting 2...

having had a 28 w small blocks for 12 yers and now a 31 with big blocks it seems to me the real factor is torque. Horsepower give you top speed( my 31 tops at 32 kts-probably 60 gph) at 2800 the boat runs 19kts+/-. so when you use a small block 350hp it still has less torque than a big block and Tha...

John--I put Ql450s on Seachele. install was easy after a little epoxy/cabosil build up to flatten the transom curve. I'm a little disappointed in the performance of the tabs-little aft lift at all but they do control lateral trim well, which is really why I installed them. Also they dont garbage up ...

Well ,bit the bullit and a pair of 700 hr. lake Erie 250 cummins are enroute to Seachele for a Jan date with the yard.
