I run 3208NA 210 HP in B31. Cruise 21-22 knts wot 25-26 knts. I have hardtop and speed same with full canvas and no canvas. Love the engines.

Sounds like a good combo to me. That was a dream of mine to do a B38 wide body with 6C or now Q series engines. I figured it was good size boat and speed I would of thought a little better upper 20's cruise. Just a dream. Stick with my B31 for awhile longer.

Thanks Cam. I got people telling to use gray and others say don't with white it's for dark colors. Others saying the gray gives paint more depth. I have no clue not a paint guy. I'm only hoping for a good 10' paint job. Not sure what to believe.

The biggest problem I have had with the sound down is the edge pulling back even with the tape. On a new fire engine the manufacturer used seam sealant on all the edges to seal the edge and hold edge secure. Once I get my washboards done. Next list of projects.

There is a B31 here on the Outer Banks NC that has 3116 300 HP. They are tight fit. They are no way near as tight as my 3208's. I have never been on the boat. I think he cruise 28+.
I'll see if I can get pictures of be engines. I try and get up with owner. I don't know personally.

From page 5 the that came with my isspro tach. It shows #gear teeth, that what I used to set dip switches on back of the tach.
I know that it's a pulse generator but that's it. Had to get new gears (little plastic pice like on old speedometers.
I'll look to see with one but I ordered.

According to isspro 134 tooth ring gear teeth. On the tach drive on front of engine. Just flipped switch on back and it was real close.

I had a similar problem a few years ago. CAT had no replacement for them. I got some isspro tach's they have dip switches on back so they work with you tach drives on engines. Hope this helps.

Patrick, yes removing old ply some rot around rodholders. I have ply, coosa, glass and epoxy. Was wondering if the coosa will compress too much. Coosa a bunch more work is it worth it? Is one layer of glass enough?
