I had an original aluminum wheel in bad shape----Raybo painted it with Imron (aluminum color) over 20 years ago and it still looks great.

ENGINE BOX HINGES

There is some discussion on a Facebook page on boxes hinged on the side like a blackfin---definitely an early 60's boat. That's the model----interesting that all were inboards ----never saw one in the USA.
They had some interesting changes from the US version. I think their stainless-steel window frames
were a great improvement.

I have often heard that the split mold was a costly manufacturing process----but in the total cost of manufacturing a boat --I can't see it adding

significant $$$ to make a difference.

I use Rybo as well--great for fiberglass & paint----but if you looking for more mechanical work --you could look at Wharton Creek or Jim's Marine Boat Repair (Jim owns a 31) in Maryland or some of the yards in the Carolinas.

Understand Vikings move to CC's----but Bertram is a fraction of Vikings production----they are in too many market segments----should concentrate

I have not compared bronze & Nibral side by side, but was told by a knowable person that most production is using the same thickness for both---

Maybe some of the higher-tier brands refine the process to take advantage of the superior properties.

Not available in stainless---- I think the early style clamshell design is ecstatically the prettiest although probably does not flow the most air.
