refinishing the original aluminum wheel is a bit of labor of love if its pitted.
First it needs to be blasted clean, high build epoxy primed.
Then likely a little bit of bodywork. Primed again, then painted and cleared.

Those are hydraulic or electric lifts, not gas struts. Very nice pieces in all polished stainless steel. I see heavy single (and double) gas struts rip out all the time. you can spray it with a fine aluminum/silver paint. just blend it out a few feet so its not so noticeable in that one area.
unless you find another used piece with the same patina or a new piece it will stand out just as much

Without quoting all the responses, the paint would be flexible, and I find a long stainless screw in the nozzle of a tube of caulking allows for good storage and easy removal (the screw) later on. Stick it in a fridge even better. A piece of wire or caulking saver also does good to make up large gaps

You’re good with a roller or brush right? Why not use a paintable sealant or even seam sealer and brush the sealant after it’s cured. A foam brush dabbed along the lines or a broad pinstripe brush works great for that
