Re: bertram 25 repower

150 ETECS are great engines with reliability. The 2 strokes have less moving parts. I use to run them professionally for years. Ran the snot out of them and they just kept performing wonderful.

What materials are Riva manifolds made of? Their profile gives a little more room between the engines. I was told that it was some alloy and not cast.

Re: Ultrasonic Antifoulant

Prop Speed is in my opinion still the best for running gear. Used it for 3 years now and the boat performs great. As for bottom paint the jury is still out. High copper content non ablatives work well if the boat sits but you get a paint build up over time. Ablatives are good only if you use the boa...

Re: 68' Scully SF has electronic control failure, hits dock

I had the opportunity to run a boat 390 hours with a set of electronic controls. The delay was a bit tough getting use to. But even with a low voltage issue once, I never had a failure. I had to re set them one time but it was 5 degrees outside. Hell the spotlight froze from freezing spray and would...

I used AWLCARE on my transom. Now the diesel soot collects like crazy where I applied it. And srubbing it off now is a pain. Paint was one year old before application. Prior to that everything wiped up so easy. Does it get easier as the season wears on?

Hey Guys. Been looking for a 22 Chris Craft Dory. Didn't know if you guys might have any leads on one. Don't mind a project boat. They are notorious for soft decks anyway. Also there is a knockoff of that boat built by Marc O customs. The company built sailboats but also built the Atlantic City Skif...

Probably not enough brushing reducer. The stuff evaporates while you are applying the paint. So if it pulls or drags you need to add more. It is an art or lots of practice with it. That don't come cheap with AWLGRIP. 2 coat minimum as well for the best results.
