my 25 goes quite nicely with a single 300hp outboard. cruises 25kts at 10gph will top out at 40kts. I am guessing the 26 with the Napier hull is more of a sharp v and a bit heavier and thus would require more power. I am not sure how to do an apples to apples conversion to power required for inboard...

to me the variable is engine load and what the engine can do for WOT based upon what it is pushing for a hull and what it has for a prop. If one setup, the boat combo with prop, the engine can hit well above WOT PRM and is under propped vs another rig that the engine hits the same RPM and burns more...

I have 10 currently and it isn't enough. My main issue isn't active use rod holders but storage ones.

My last boat config, I had 4 in my leaning post and 2 per side in my radar arch, it made it easier to get a rod out of the way.

at least you are getting out.... I have a love / hate relationship with trailering. I love the flexibility to fish different locations and reduced cost of fuel tanking up at local gas stations but on the flip side it isn't always worth it to hook up the trailer and go out for an hour or 2 after work...
