John,
Just tryin' to prepare the Lauderdale boys so that they don't blow beer through their noses when I arrive... Don't want to be confused as Floridian.

Phil, The H25,($593 list), is my preference. It's a 2.75 cu in displacement with a 1" straight 6 1/8" shaft and is mated with K1B ram, ($828.90 list), for 4 1/2 turns hard over to hard over. You'd also need a RV55 resovervalve, ($565.65 list) & the SS ball joint for the ram end, ($123.85 list). This...

Timmy, Welcome aboard! Totally different animals, apples and oranges... The B31 is a Hunt designed hull where the B30 is a Napier designed hull. The B30 is more comparable to the B28 & the B35, (also a Napier designs). The B30 will let you in the door for significantly less money, but will never hav...

Dug, Go for it... I do think however that the solid fiberglass is overkill and not adding much more in the way of strength. The ply wouldn't have to be marine grade either. BC exterior will do just as well. Use only epoxy in any case. If you're worried about water intrusion at the bolt holes, over d...

Phil, The LPs are very compact as far as junk hanging outboard from the block. You can easily go out as far as 16" from the hull... I like a wide long shelf that can accomodate just about anything you might want to mount there, hot water heater, ac compressor, batteries, (although I prefer the batte...

Thanks for the answers. These are the shaft logs. I will try and do the fiberglass project at some time... JC, Here's what can be lurking under all that goop. Phil, I tab fore, aft and along the hull. Try to make your shelf to be as low as possible. I like to get the top surface of the shelves to be flush with the chine depression. You also want to do about a 2º down slope inboard so that any water that gets on the shelf will drain off rather than puddle...

John, You can use the same technique to band any edge that you feel needs it, all others just make sure that they are sealed well with epoxy... You will have some figuring to do in layout along the parallel edges so that your teak widths workout. I cut and fitted templates for all of the T&H panels ...

John, "Buddy Boy" has 12mm T&H laid onto a 1/2" plywood subdeck and screwed down so that it can be removed for refinishing when necessary. There are several ways you could edge the plywood, but you only need to edge the ends that are perpendicular to the grain of the teak. On "Buddy Boy" I epoxy & s...

UV, Yup, super glue will work good... But before you try it, put a wide piece of masking tape just below the split so that any drip or run from excess glue will not run onto the Strataglass. Also put a strip of tape on the back side of the split to hold it closed. Super glue bonds well to most acryl...

Sandy, The hardest part of the replacement may be getting the old rudders out. Remove the tie bar ends from the ball joint of the tiller arms. You'll have to remove the plug screw from the end of the socket connector ends to free up the socket assembly. Loosen the tiller arm bolt, then remove the br...

Phil, the internal shell should be at least as thick as the hull, including the top. Remember, if you were to hit something it could try to drive the ducer back into the boat, so make it plenty strong and flared out to spread any abnormal loads. you can precut dry fiberglass patches & then wet them ...
