We measure the wind speed in km or nm, but for ordinary people the measure is the Beaufort scale. Television forecasts is only in Beauforts. Only sailors (mainly) and motorboaters (secondarily) discuss windspeed in km or nm. Up to 3 Beauforts we consider calm. From 4 onwards we are becoming cautious...

The chips are terribly unhealthy because of the acrylamide they accumulate from the oil they fry in, that rises to high temperatures. No oil can sustain these temper...

Doug, Down here it's just that the temperature outside is cold, say 15-20 in the day and 10-15 at night, so really during the day, if it doesn't rain (rare) it is OK if you dress warm. That is easy. I then removed the shafts for inspection, and upon re-installation, they mounted one shaft (port) a few mm aft from its previous position. So, these guys put in 4LHA 240hp Yanmars! Nothing more voluminous or as heavy as their choice of rudders suggests... To tell you the truth, if I had 2-3K to spare on a heater, I would probably spend it on an A/C.
The days an A/C is needed are way more numerous than for a heater.
Besides, there is no room anymore for either of them!

Yes, he told me also that the shafts and propellers are positioned further back, but didn't mention anything about the angle.
I understood that this placement of shafts/props was dictated by the engine (bigger/longer engines?).

One other reason that I forgot to mention, that contributed to my decision to pull the turbos, is that the previous owner(s) were using the boat WITHOUT exhaust risers, which I had to make and install. I have seen how detrimental this can be on the turbos which are the first in line as the sea water...
