Re: 2014 Northeast Rendevous

Launched with one seat and two buckets. Trying to improve from there.
Wife gets nervous when I open it up with nothing to hang onto.

Does anyone know if there will be any 25s at the Rendevous?

Re: 2014 Northeast Rendevous

Bertramp,

Yes that's me east of Havens Beach. "Retriever"
Got it in the water early this year compared to last year when my summer time on the boat was mostly working on it in the driveway.
So far this year everything works, but still doing cosmetics my wife insists on - like seats.

Re: 2014 Northeast Rendevous

Wondering if there are going to be any 25s there? Its a weekend that I had unfortunately planned to be working upstate, but a friend of mine is interested in buying a 25 and thought the Rendzevous might be an opportunity to see and talk about them. If so I might be able to get free and shoot over fr...

Re: Bilge pumps

On my B25I recently replaced a set of older Rule float type switches with Rule 37A Marine Super Switch. So what kind of life should I expect ? Hoping they last a while as it took me a couple of hours to get them installed under the engines where I could just barely reach them with one hand. The old ...

Re: B25 PVC board question

Tank - Flat part of tank bottom rests on plywood. Outside approx. 11" of the tank on either side angle up, though at an angle a few degrees off the hull angle, and previously rested right on the hull- with only soft rubber 1/4 strips in between. I'm using the PVC board strips, after some angle cutti...

Re: B25 PVC board question

Patrick, I remember from when we talked on the phone a while back you had said 4200 or 5200 would be fine. The trouble is that in doing research, like searching this board, I come up with conflicting recommendations that make it seem like one choice or the other for PVC board is much better and even...

B25 PVC board question

Finally re-installing my AL fuel tank mentioned in prior post a while back. Leaked last year as previous owner installation had it against rotting plywood - corrosion hole being the result. Now the tank is epoxy coated. Going on a bed of epoxy coated marine ply - after removing a good deal plywood r...

Re: Walter K

Walter,

You were kind enough to drop by and give me guidance on my B25 last year.
If there is anything I can do to help with your boat or other, please let me know.
I will be in the area from the 29th thru the 7th and off and on after that for the rest of the summer.

Re: Bertram 25 - Advice needed on changes.

Captbone and Cam, Its good to get comments from some of the Bert 25 site crew. I have seen those photos of "Scrappy5"s boat. And also some others from before he replaced the fiberglass tank. But I still don't have any clear photos showing what the original setup was on a 69 and still trying to find ...

Re: Bertram 25 - Advice needed on changes.

Captbone - your photo is looking forward toward the foot well. My photo below shows drain holes at the corners which allow water to drain from the foot well onto the base that the tank sits on, assuming there was a base on place. I don't see any reason not to just plug the wholes and let the water d...

Re: Bertram 25 - Advice needed on changes.

Thanks for the comments. In reply to Captbone - one of my issues is that I don't have a photo of the original factory setup. I assume it was plywood all the way across under the glass tank, and was cutout in the middle when the AL tank was installed. Also not sure whether the plywood sitting upright...

Bertram 25 - Advice needed on changes.

I’m looking for some advice on changes/upgrades that should be made on my 69 Bert 25 convert and hope to be doing the work in the next 6 weeks starting this weekend - hampered by the fact that I’m in upstate NY most of the time and the boat is on Long Island. I have just read Kieth Poe’s “Opinions P...

Re: Bertram 25 -- it might be floating this year

As a refugee from the Bert 25 site, I was just about to post some tank installation questions and photos. When I bought my 69 25 convert in 2011 it came with a replacement AL 90 gallon tank installed in 2006. Lasted until the first day of my vacation in Aug 2012 when I discovered 90 gallons leaking ...
