My original shaft logs were Bolted on Bronze logs. They had a pair of thin bronze backing strips on outside that had some corrosion but the log itself was 100%. I was planning to use, but going from 1-1/4 shaft to 1-1/2 it left no wiggle room and glassed in fiberglass logs. In short...I believe bolt...

Wow...alot of custom work was done to that boat. Quick look prop pockets, pocket door, curved head enclosure, ceiling electronics, nasty shaft logs (or bad pics), relocated exhaust... Yet...looks like it needed some work. Has to be a story there... That said, project seems to be moving along nicely....

Frank- One day these dry exhaust risers systems will fail. The big difference is that when they do fail, the water will not leak back into the motor. You’re coming from heavy 300hp cats to 550hp Cummins. You can move a bit quicker without taxing motors much at all and they should last a good long while. Or you can run em hard and all bets r off. Could also step down in hp, run em like you ran the Cats with a longer motor expectancy, less coin inv...

Its so expensive as 1 or 2 elbows cannot be replicated "exactly" for less. Those elbows are mandrel bent with rolled ridges to secure hose. If you do not care about saving the fittings and good with a grinder n sawzall, cut the intake scoop flush to hull, go inside and pull/pry the valve out. The same can be done from inside...but inside tends to be tighter to maneuver and makes a good mess.

Yup, that looks familiar, nice job! On your showerhead it looks like you did a flared end to introduce the raw water. I agree, very expensive for what they are. It's a flange to mount onto turbo, than a tube within a tube going to a showerhead. I made a pair as I didn't like the stock elbows for my boat.
