I've heard that some tanks had riveted in baffles. The rivets were covered with fiberglass and need to be ground out. The only one i have cut into has fiberglass baffles that are glassed in and bedded in putty at the top. You will need some sort of wire rope saw to cut through the baffles.

I use my docking lights while running at night all the time. They show up crab pot bouys and floating debris and don't hurt your night vision. Also they make you very easy to see, which is important with some of the yahoos on the water now!!

Scot makes a good point about whether the taper is correct or not. If it is just a little off the prop will move under power and destroy itself over time.

I mounted my monitor on the back of the lower helm station seat. You can see it everytime you walk into the cabin. They also make a battery temp. monitor that automatically compensates for the battery temp.

Congratulations on you acceptance. I'm not an expert, but I don't see why you couldn't split the exhaust. Two 3" would be too small, but I would think two 4" would work. The experts will be along soon to give you some meaningful advice though!!

Those are the cutlass bearings. There should be no side to side or up and down play in them. Depending on the shaft size you are going to, you may be able to use thin wall bearings.
