Re: Awlgrip or Awlcraft clear coat
I've used the clear coat on our transom It offered some protection to the name and base paint from the diesel soot and constant washing that takes place on the transom. When the clear begins to look shotty a simple wet sand through the clear and reshoot make the transom look like new again. My only ...

I would respectfully disregard the muffler manufacturer rating and go with the engine manufacturers recommendations. I know of plenty 8.3 liter engines that put out the same horsepower as our 5.9 liter engines with considerably more torque. I would guess as an exhaust manufacturer you would rate at ...

CHIMERA uses 6" Centek Centubular mufflers. When the installation was tested there were no issues according to Cummins Cummins still calls for 5-6" exhaust on their installations of 270-330 hp engines The 5" Centubes have been used on the 270hp installs with the same passing results. I believe Cente...

What Capt Pat said.
Single levers offer the greatest boat handling advantage in docking and fishing situations, that being said you will now need two hands to accelerate and decelerate so you may have to get put the coffee down.

I've watched this thread for awhile, I've been on Neil's boat when she goes into cant steer mode and that's with Capt Pats rudders. The one consistent is the larger distance from rudder to prop. Bob H I like the idea of knees, especially knowing that you will be loading those clutch holders with up 70 lbs of drag trying to twist them up and away. John I would recommend the 1.5" shafts. Your going to run 1.5-1 gears and a 20x23" 4 blade wheel 5" exhausts are required for the install, if you keep the engines as far forward as possible in the boxes you can use the factory supplied exhaust risers with no problem Just remember you are going to bl...
