I had the same problem last summer when I purchased a 31 bahia mar that had been sitting for 2 years same engines also. The owner had the tank cleaned prior to sea trial and it would still foul the filters after a few hours. I installed the Fleetguard filters you mentioned and have not had a problem since. I got everything from Tony Athens.
