Possible visit to Chatham, MA, any info?

Hey guys,

I have to go to a wedding in Chatham, MA on Labor day weekend. We don't really feel like spending the whole weekend up on the Cape, when we have our own summer place to spend time, so we were going to drive up and back on the same day (not to knock Cape Cod however, that is not the goal!). The traffic is potentially daunting however.

Then it hit me... I am going to go to the Vineyard for the rendezvous, why couldn't I take the boat and make a real adventure out of it! That would be a heck of a lot more fun!!!! Is it an easy visit? Where would I look to find out more info? How about a slip or mooring, are they readily available?

Anyone local able to shed some light for me?
