Ron,
Why not leave the old tank in place cut the top off and have a coated aluminum tank made to fit inside tha old tank. by doing this you would save alot of the time and effort removing the old tank. This is a lot less invasive . Like having arthroscopic surgery as opposed to cutting you wide open, and leaving most of the old structure in place..Just a thought.
