UVI Update - back to the real world

Well I'm in the Panama airport headed home after a short week (4 days)of awesome fishing. Yesterday there were at least 3 boats with 12 sailfish flags flying - one also had a blue!! I caught my first Pacific Sails (8 total - 4 on Sunday, 2 on a spinning rod on Wednesday, and 2 yesterday on one of Hanks custom 20lb rods!!) the boat I was on Sunday caught 12 sails and had a huge Blue Marlin on before it spit the hook midway through the fight! I have never seen a marlin jump so high! Lots of firsts for everyone - striped and blue marlin, sails, dorado, roosterfish and more!! Beautiful pace - extremely isolated. When you approach the coast by boat it looks like the opening of Jurassic Park - the rainforest comes right down the steep mountains to the surf! Speaking of which Randall is holding first place in the new surfing division of the UVI!! I will leave the rest for someone else to tell, but needless to say they are having fun!! The $1,800 bar tab credit didn't last two days! Hank raffled off one of his rods to refresh the kitty. It raised $2,300, but as of yesterday only about a thousand of that remained! What fun!!
