Working in a marina helps with thinking which way to go with this issue.
Trying to make a desision for now and the future, if and when the ethanol % goes up to 35-50%.
There has been some questions raised at that % what will be the reaction to aluminum tanks.
I have mentioned in past threads about a Barrier Coating to reline my tank. I have desided against that. In lieu of that I will reline with Vinyl Ester resin and a certain fiberglass mat which our supplier at Composite One says is called C-Glass. This is the material they use in underground gas tanks and industrial chemical tanks and basiclly rated for what ever.
Still going to remove the tank beacuse it will be just that much easier to clean and work with.
Cut the top off, remove the antisapted aluminum baffles clean, let dry, sand up, lay up three layers, new fiberglass baffles, post cure with heat for two or three days, glass the top back on and reinstall.
Hope to splash in some time mid July and will keep this site posted to the tank work.Keep Smilin
