I found filters now help with something else...

Thanks so much for the help in finding filters. OK. I was able to locate filters. Yesterday I got to the boat and changed the racors...they were filty. Got the boat up on plane...starboard engines is leading and port seems to be struggling to catch up. I cruise a little while and I hear somebody yelling down...put throttle down and port engine is heated and coolant is coming out boinling with pressure....

I shut down the engine and get back to the dock...

Start cheking everything I touch the housing on the raw water pump of starboard engine and its hot as hell...

disasemble the pump and sure enough impeller not turning and in pieces...

I replace the impellar and decide to check the other pump and impleller is going bad so change both...

I wait for the engine to cool and drain the coolant and put new coolant...

turn the engine on and let the seawater finish cooling the engine...

Thank God nothing worse happens..

So I take the boat out again almost dark now and put it back on plane...

Port engine still lagging behind...

I started doing the tony dawn turbo wash on the port engine and it starts smoking and loosing RPM's halfway between the dawn wash I get woried and start puting in the distilled water... still smoking black untill I finish putting the distilled water..then it gets back and blows less black smoke and seems to respond better...

Questions...

Is it normal for the engine to smoke like that with the tubo wash.. Iguess its all the carbon build up???

I need to change secondary filter to see if there is some type of restriction...

What else could make the engine lag...it just seems slow to respond...
