Hal,
Some marine boxes have thicker insulation, but as a whole a standard box will work fine on a boat.

Make sure you have proper ventilation for the box.
You may have to add a pancake fan to cool the cond coil depending on where you put it.
Most small boxes use convection type of cooling for the coils and are designed to sit out in the open or under a counter with an open back.

Putting them in an enclosed area will over heat them quickly.

When looking at the box, pay close attention to the way it cools the coils and install accordingly.
