Fuel flow

Dear all,
after 20 minutes at 3300rpm, one of my 454 gas starts to lose power, like as a poor flow of fuel, specifically on the edge of waves.
More throttle, more the problem.
Stopping the engine for 1 hour, then everything seems ok, but after other 15..20' the problem is coming back.
Fuel filter, only one, looks ok.
Heating of fuel pump could be a recurrent problem on Mercruisers (dated '79, top part revamped 3 years ago), bringing to this defect?
