We needed new props this year. I read Jimmy G's post and had our guy look into the acme props. He was impressed with what he found out but they needed 10 weeks to get our size (19 X 22 nibral 4 blade) and we did not want to wait.
We ended up getting Michigan DQX to replace the old HI-TORQ props. Was told that they were comparable to the ACME props. Well, we have not done any real running this year so the fuel numbers are not in, but the speed at mid range is up a knot or so and the boat runs as smooth as silk. We used to have some very slight vibration at 2800-3000 Rpm but none at any speed with the new props (we have Yanmar 6lp-dte's).
Can't wait to see what she does on a canyon run as far as fuel. So far for the bass season we have put over 260 miles on 1/2 tank.
