Craig,
The designation of "35 kt hull speed" doesn't mean that the boat won't go faster... It's means that 35 kt is the fastest "safe" speed the hull should be pushed to.
Regino & Rey Cabrera have had the B31 FBC, (lightly loaded), to 50 mph, (43.4 kt), with their prop pockets & 3116 Cats at 350 hp. Later, the same boat chine walked on the owner, running at WOT, causing at least one severe injury to a passenger & a hellova' lawsuit.
