i could not agree with you more---with the $$, time, and sweat invested in my boat---will not go out and pound the cr_p out of it---rarely will run faster than 23 knts---in its old age my boat is leading a very pampered life.

purpose of the posting was to dispel the notion that its hull design limits the boat to a max of 35 knts--it is not the design ---its the weight, weight placement, wind drag that limits its speed.

most of the hard core fisherman here probably have boats pushing 15,000-18000 lbs , which is probably double what they raced at. and the weight is probably higher and more forward than desirable.

if you really want it to go fast, make it a center console and hang 3x300 hp outboards on its transom.
