Yep. I second that Vic noticed the same thing on my green ones. They like new oil about every 100 no more than 150 hours. Interesting about the 15W-40. I've been using the straight 40 Rotella down here in this heat all the time. Been using it on all my diesels for 23 years now. 4 current Diesel engines and 3 in the past. I'm from the school "change often is better" I do mix a little good quality synthetic in 1 1 /2 quarts per engine sticking with Shell. Can't hurt.I had this stuff drilled into my head from my Dad. He was a Diesel Engineer on many merchant ships.
I never believed him totally until I experienced it myself.Time is running near for the big bash.
