In Response To: What are the right props? (Jim Wolfe)

I have been running 1 1/2" props with a shim to 1 3/8" for 4 plus years with no problem. I actually think the (nylon?) shims seat better than my straight 1 3/8" ones. If it was me, I would take the prop sets in one at a time to a good prop shop, they will go thru them, straighten them, (if possible), and can even changr the pitch + or - 2 degrees. You can't run a bent prop and expect no vibration, you shouldn't even be running a bent prop. If it's a good shop, and you correctly discribe your needs on the boat you have, they will get you close on the first set and will probably dial it on the second.

Good luck, Scott
