Dave,
I know the feeling. Last year I had 6 alumni from Holy Cross University charter my boat for the Marathon Swim around Manhattan. They had planned to use me again this year on the weekend of 6/24. However, due to enrollment snags and snafus, they were not able to enroll for this year unless they bought out one of the corporate sponsored slots. This year they also had doubled the number of swimmers, and I was going to line up a second boat for them as another escort. However, in order to buy the corporate spots, they would have had to raise an additional $10,000($5,000 per slot), in addition to the entry fee of roughly $1500 per swimmer, plus the fees for 2 charters. At least they told me to be available for next year.....oh well.
